Our introduction to brooke started over a quick email. Brooke and Eric recently got engaged and wanted something ethically sourced and sustainably made, but also something personal to their story.
Brooke and Eric had travelled across the world together, three years together including various countries and a year in New Zealand. They were looking for ring that would reflect their journey together and their future ahead. (loved that Brooke understands the symbolism jewelry can hold)
"The Moonstone I chose because it is a stone that does not add or detract, only perceiving that which “is”. It promotes inspiration, enhances intuition, and offers protection. The White Topaz halo around the moonstone, sourced from a vintage broach, dispels negative energy, and is conducive to synchronicity, continually reminding us to go with the flow of the universe. The Ruby underneath magnifies LOVE all around. Cause that’s all you need. To own a ruby brings one contentment and peace."
The lotus flower is a prominent symbol in the Buddhist religion. Wanting to include that within the ring without being overtly obvious, we were able to create a secret design of a lotus on the underside of the ring. At the center of the lotus is a ruby. Rubies symbolize a secret for Brooke and Eric.
Eric had proposed with a ring from his journeys before he met Brooke. Traveling in Nepal he received a ring with the the words "Om MNI Padme Hum" engraved. There is no direct translation of the meaning, but has been understood to mean "the jewel and the crown of the lotus."
This couple was so lovely and unique to work with to help them create a ring that illustrates the love they shared with each other throughout their travels together. Cheers to another story to add to the reason why Lane + Kate love to handcraft custom engagement rings.
