Lane & Kate is a custom fine jewelry boutique at 1417 Vine Street in Over the Rhine, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202, close to Findlay Market and the heart of OTR.

We are open Wednesday through Saturday from 11am to 6pm and Sunday from 12pm to 3pm. We are closed Monday and Tuesday while our team focuses on custom design work behind the scenes.

Appointments are absolutely recommended, especially for engagement ring and custom design consultations, so we can give you our full attention. You are always welcome to stop in during open hours too, and we will do our best to help the moment you arrive.

Yes, custom engagement rings are the heart of what we do. Every ring begins with a conversation about your story, moves through digital renderings and diamond viewings, and is finished with a wax model preview. Then the ring is made in four weeks time!

Our process unfolds in a few thoughtful stages: an initial design consultation, digital renderings, then a wax model preview paired with a diamond and gemstone viewing so you can see your ring before it is made, and finally handcrafted production. Most custom pieces are complete about four weeks after final approval.

Every custom piece is priced around your specific design, metal, and stone choices, so we do not quote a flat price online. Book a design consultation and we will walk through options and investment ranges together, with no pressure and no obligation.

We would love to. Heirloom reworking is one of our favorite things to do. Bring us a stone, a ring, or a piece that already means something to you, and we will help you reimagine it into something you will wear every day.

We do. We complete full custom wedding bands designed to pair seamlessly with your custom ring, making the whole process feel seamless, and we also keep a full selection of wedding bands in house. Our Ready to Ship tab holds fine jewelry that is already in stock and goes out within two business days of purchase, perfect for when you cannot wait. Pieces from our curated designer collections follow each designer's own production timeline instead, and that timeline is noted right on the product page so you know what to expect before you buy. Our boutique carries an even wider selection in store, so stop by to see options you will not find online.

It can. If a ring from our Ready to Ship tab or a designer collection needs to be sized up or down, plan for a bit of added time beyond the usual shipping or pickup window while we make that adjustment. We will always let you know the expected turnaround for your specific piece before it ships.

We source GIA certified natural diamonds, certified lab grown diamonds, and precious gemstones, chosen around what matters most to you. We are glad to walk you through certification and grading during your consultation.

Both are real diamonds, chemically and visually identical. The difference comes down to where they formed, in the earth or in a lab. We carry GIA certified natural diamonds and certified lab grown diamonds, and our team will help you compare the two side by side so you can choose what feels right for your ring and your budget.

Sustainable and responsible practices guide how we source metals and stones, from certified diamonds to thoughtfully chosen designer partners. Ask us anytime about where a specific piece or stone comes from, we are glad to share the story behind it.

Fully custom engagement rings carry a lifetime warranty for normal wear and tear, and we cover the first break on any chain while you get used to wearing it. Bring your Lane & Kate pieces back anytime for a look, a clean, or a repair.

Complimentary cleaning is available for custom pieces, usually ready the same or next business day. At home, put jewelry on after your skincare routine, take rings off before workouts or heavy lifting, and remove everything before a hot tub. White gold benefits from rhodium replating every couple of years, and we are always happy to answer care questions in the shop.

Ready to Ship pieces go out within two business days of purchase, and designer pieces follow their own production timelines noted on each product page. Local pickup is available at our Over the Rhine boutique during open hours, and we will email you the moment your order is ready.

As a small business we do not accept returns, but we always offer exchanges on regularly priced items. Reach out to makeityours@laneandkate.com to start an exchange. Sale items and completed custom pieces are not eligible.
